John Jordi wrote: “In this particular part of the globe we have subdued the land, fenced in its creatures and harnessed its wild rivers"

What does this mean?

Yes, we have subdued the land. But we are making amends! by not cutting off trees, by using less poison. But what are the mining houses doing? They are buldozing ahead, well knowing that they have the monetary resources which the man in the street do not have. They need to be stopped. We need everybody's help in this effort, especially for the preservation of the Wonderfonteinspruit catchment area and its' community.

Over 3500 South African Citizens, Organisations, Communities and NGO's have registered in a very time consuming and lengthy Environmental Impact Assessment process on government's Nuclear Agenda in South Africa. What is supposed to be a "public participation" process which will only at the end decide whether South African's agree to such a nuclear program using "taxpayers" money has been proven time and time again in recent months to be nothing more than a farce. The government has made up their minds long before any EIA process even started and hence their EIA process is nothing more than a farce and complete waste of time and money by private citizens to partake in such a farce process. And this is what this government likes to call DEMOCRACY? The South African government needs to be held accountable for wasting taxpayers time in their EIA processes for which the decisions have already been made.

Let this petition be the start of a public-inspired national referendum that stops the proliferation of nuclear power stations, nuclear smelters, uranium enrichment plants and uranium mining. SIGN NOW!! Print out copies and take it to those who don't have computers, inform them about the dangers of the national nuclear strategy and get them to circulate and sign until there are millions who force a stop to this madness!
